Hi everyone,
This is an odd start…LOL!
For the last few years, I’ve been thinking about what I might like to do with my free time, other than writing numerous iterations of the same story that never quite read right. If you don’t know me, and you likely don’t if you’ve stumbled across this page by chance, then you’ll come to know that I’m a perpetual, amateur writer… One who consistently critiques her own writing past the point of any promise of publication.
Incoming… Some Ish I Wrote. This website, for lack of better explanation, is exactly that: a place where I’ve decided to pay real American dollars to post B.S. that didn’t make it into any of my own stories. Here, I figure I’ll publish the random rumblings within my own head as I read others’ stories, and maybe crack a joke or two—probably a lot of jokes, because I can’t take anything seriously.
To be frank, I’ve created this website as an outlet for my own mind while reading stories. It’s entirely selfish in its making, and I don’t plan on holding any punches— Actually, I’ll probably hold every punch and will instead offer a light tap of “WTF did I just read?”.
You’re probably wondering how this website is at all beneficial to your own life, or how it might offer any interest outside of your daily TikTok scrolling. To be honest with you, I’m sort of winging it here, so come and go as you please. However, if you stick around to read between the lines of some of my random rumblings, I hope you’ll find a new story that you’re intrigued enough to crack open. Truly, I’ve kept myself going in this life by reading about the lives of others, both fictional and non.
This website really is amateur in the making, so please offer up your best roast on my shoddy building skills. I want to read what everyone has to say (see above about seriousness and its menial existence in my adult life). Think of it as your introduction! I’ll even give you a prompt below:
“Hi, my name is _____, and my favorite color is ___. Also, your website is___.”
Feel free to get creative with it. Another option is:
“Hey, I’m _____, and I recently read ____. Side note—your website sort of reminds me of____.”
Anywho, once we’ve got the fun stuff out of the way, I hope you’ll all stick around and read a post or two. In all honesty, I want this website to be a fun place without many rules. I’d like for you all to give your honest feedback on stories that you’ve read (with respect to the authors), and eventually, I’ll offer up a monthly or weekly spotlight for others to post their own reviews.
